État de la populationExpert
This species is known from only four specimens collected in 1937, 1944, 1958 and 1993. Information accompanying the 1937 specimen states that it was "seen in two distinct spots". Kelloff and Funk (1998) highlight the fact that "the steep cliff face and the slippery rocks make collecting difficult", suggesting that this species is undercollected due to this reason.

Description complète des menacesExpert
The Guianan Moist Forests are one of the largest continuous tracts of relatively pristine lowland tropical rainforest in the world. Recently, however, logging and mining are beginning to encroach the area, with gold mining in particular polluting streams and rivers. The only known location for this species is well protected, however, and at present the species is not likely to be under threat from these pressures.
