In most sites - Sarpang (Lhayul gewog, Jigmecholing gewog), Lhamoizhingkha (Dagana), Langthil and Korphu gewog (Trongsa), Gelephu (Box cutting), Pasakha (Chukha), Praling (Zhemgang), Nanong Zoebel (Pemagatshel) and Deothang-Orong (Samdrup jongkhar) - it is quite common.

At most known sites, there are no specific threats known. At the box cutting site, landslides are a possible threat. Its use for fodder and roofing are unlikely to have a major impact, but may result in localized temporary declines.
