Description complète des menacesExpert
Fire suppression, ditching and draining in wetlands, rooting by feral hogs, and conversion of habitat to pine plantations are some of the threats to this species. Additionally, residential and commercial development has negative impacts on this species as well (Chafin 2008). Climate change and the expected sea level rise coupled with saltwater intrusion is also a potential threat to this species (Roger L. Hammer, pers. comm.).
