There is evidence of removal of orchid bulbs for sale in nearby Zambia, and the bulbs of this species may also be impacted at the same time. At the Uluguru Mtn location there has been extensive loss of habitat due to conversion to agricultural land. The Livingstone Mts area could also be impacted in future by increased conversion of grassland areas to agriculture (potato farming).
