This species is only known from two collections: Hess 52/2106 collected in 1952 and Barker et al. 115 collected in 2015. The collecting localities are c. 100 kilometers apart along tributaries of the Cuito river system. More fieldwork is needed to better assess the distribution range of the species and potential threats.
