Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Based on the georeferenced data, some of the wetland areas where the species occurs are likely altered and degraded due to human impacts such as land conversion (e.g. Google Earth satellite imagery; Birdlife International Data Zone). Global climate change (drought) may also affect the quality of the habitat of the species. It is unclear how these potential threats affect the species.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
Mesanthemum pilosum is fairly widely distributed and is found in several protected areas including the Mutinondo Wilderness Area and Kundelungu National Park in Zambia. It is known to occur close to (and may occur inside the boundaries of) the Liuwa Plain National and Protected Area, the Bangweulu Wetlands, and South Luangwa National Park in Zambia; and the Kaningina Forest Reserve in Malawi. Targeted fieldwork is needed to confirm the presence of the species in these protected areas.
