État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
It is restricted to upper part of sandstone cliffs on the Benna Plateau. Global population: 400-700 mature plants were seen from 28 November to 4 December 2017, in 9 sites on the southern section of the Benna Plateau. It is likely that many more plants are present, because the plants cannot be easily seen on most of the vertical cliffs.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
Mesanthemum bennae is known from two botanical collections, the first made in 1937, the second in 2017. Little is known on the life-cycle of this species. More research to fill gaps in knowledge would enable management. Baseline data on the population is needed for future monitoring. It is likely that the entire population will be included in the Kounounkan IPA. Seeds of Mesanthemum bennae have been collected for the Millennium Seed Bank of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The seeds were collected from 7 plants, and are stored at Kew's MSB and at the seed bank of the National Herbarium of Guinea.
