État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Macrozamia pauli-guilielmi is known from at least 27 subpopulations. These range in size from a single adult plant to at least 3,600 individuals. Most of the subpopulations in State Forest 519 could be considered as being part of a single, much fragmented metapopulation. M. pauli-guilielmi' s range occupies at least 35ha, and with at least 13,131 adult individuals present. Our lack of knowledge about the biology of this species makes it extremely difficult to estimate a minimum viable population. Most of the subpopulations of M. pauli-guilielmi show evidence of insect pollination and seedling recruitment (Queensland Herbarium 2007).

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
This species has been affected by the destruction of habitat for pastures, forestry and other agriculture e.g. pineapples. Many plants have been removed from habitat for collectors and for general garden use. The habitats of Macrozamia platyrhachis and M. pauli-guilielmi are extremely fire-prone and are burnt irregularly on two year, or longer, intervals. The fires are often intense, uncontrolled and may be started by lightning or burning off on adjacent pastoral land, state forests or national parks (Queensland Herbarium 2007).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species is listed in Appendix II of the CITES Appendices. Plants occur in the Great Sandy National Park. An education and awareness programme as well as the long-term monitoring of subpopulations will support the conservation of this species.
