Lithocarpus leiostachyus occurs in two subpopualtions in Lam Dong province, Viet Nam. The region has seen extensive deforestation (logging) and habitat conversion for agriculture (rubber, bananas), road construction and urbanization. Sites outside protected areas may no longer hold populations of this species.
