Lithocarpus konishii occurs in a number of subpopulations in China (Hainan island), Hong Kong and Taiwan, Province of China. The region has seen extensive deforestation and habitat conversion for agriculture and urbanization. Some sites outside protected areas may no longer hold subpopulations of this species.
