Lithocarpus garrettianus occurs in a number of populations throughout China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand and Vietnam. The region has seen extensive deforestation and habitat conversion for agriculture (rice, rubber, corn), extensive cattle ranching, road construction and urbanization. Sites outside protected areas may no longer hold populations of this species. No population information could be retrieved for Myanmar.
