Lithocarpus eichleri occurs in a number of subpopulations in Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia (Sumatra). The area has seen extensive logging, seasonal burning and land conversion to intense agriculture such as bananas, rice, rubber and palm oil plantations and cattle ranching. It is very likely that some of these subpopulations outside protected areas no longer hold any individuals.
