Lithocarpus dinhensis occurs in a small number of subpopulations in Viet Nam. The region has seen extensive deforestation (logging) and habitat conversion for agriculture (rubber, bananas, rice), road construction and urbanization. Some sites outside protected areas may no longer hold subpopulations of this species.
