Lithocarpus cyclophorus occurs in a number of subpopulations in Indonesia (Sumatra), Thailand, and Peninsular Malaysia. The area has seen extensive logging, seasonal burning and land conversion to intense agriculture such as banana, rice, rubber and palm oil plantations and cattle ranching. It is very likely that some of these subpopulations outside protected areas no longer hold any individuals, and it is Extinct in Singapore (Chong et al. 2009).
