Lithocarpus corneus occurs in a number of subpopulations throughout China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Province of China, Viet Nam, Lao PDR and Thailand. The region has seen extensive deforestation and habitat conversion for agriculture and urbanization. Some sites outside protected areas may no longer hold subpopulations of this species.
