There is no major threat to this species as the majority of the population is found in protected areas, or sites of pristine forest. the species is prohibited from being felled in Sabah. In Sabah, the tree is listed under Sabah Forestry Department prohibited species and felling is not allowed in all forest reserves due to its importance for wildlife food resources.

Lithocarpus brochidodromus is protected in situ in at least three Totally Protected Areas (TPAs) in Borneo. Trees of Fagaceae family are listed on the 'prohibited list' under Sabah Forestry Department policy and therefore felling of these trees is not allowed in any of the forest reserves. There is no known ex situ conservation for this species.
