Lithocarpus braianensis occurs in a number of subpopulations throughout Viet Nam. The region has seen extensive deforestation (logging) and habitat conversion for agriculture (rubber, bananas), road construction and urbanization. The population size is estimated to be less than 50 mature individuals.
