Lithocarpus blumeanus occurs in a number of subpopulations throughout Brunei, Indonesian and Malaysian Borneo and Peninsula Malaysia. A population reduction of less than 30% is suspected to be met in Sarawak in the next 100 years.

The wider area has seen extensive deforestation and habitat conversion for agriculture and urbanization. The species is occasionally used for local logging and firewood collection, but is not targeted.
