État de la populationExpert
The species is described as 'rare' in Banka et al. 2004. Banka et al. also stated that 'at the type locality near Pual River, a careful search within a radius of 100 m revealed only one additional individual and no regeneration'. Therefore, the population size is currently known to be less than 10 individuals in the wild. The population trend is declining due to threats at both localities of the species. Also as the species shows a lack of regeneration, it is suspected that the remaining individuals are Severely Fragmented as there is unlikely to be genetic exchange between the two known locations of the tree.

Description complète des menacesExpert
This species is threatened by agricultural expansion as evidenced in Google Earth Satellite Imagery. Logging and human settlement development are also considered threat to the species. Lack of evidence of regeneration (Banka and Barfod 2004) is also a concern to the longevity of the species.
