Description complète des menacesExpert
The three recorded sites for Licuala bifida are outside protected areas. Of the three sites, two are inside logging concessions which are not yet active. Ayawasi is inside the PT Bangun Kayu Irian logging concession, and Merdey is inside the PT Papua Satya Kencana (Global Forest Watch 2023). The location south of Kasim is outside the oil palm concession to the south, but satellite imagery shows active deforestation along the roads, and deforestation for a probable new settlement 10 km to the southeast.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
There have been recent "conservation province" initiatives in West Papua and on March 21st 2019  a special provincial regulation was ratified with aims to set aside 70% of the land as conservation areas, review land-based business licences and promote sustainable development with a commitment to preserve biodiversity and maintain ecological balance (INFS 2019). This species is not found in any protected areas, and is not currently in any ex situ collections (BGCI 2023)
