Data is needed on the range of this species, its population size, regeneration, and detailed threats.
The location in Equatorial Guinea is close to Monte Allen National Park. It is unknown if the species occurs within this protected area (sanctuary). Mont de l'Eléphant (the location in southern Cameroon) is not currently protected. This area is known to have endemic species such as Begonia montis-elephantis. It should be constituted as a protected area for plants. Efforts should be made to involve local communities in protecting these species, and to attempt to propagate these species in cultivation for reintroduction, if needed.
