Description complète des menacesExpert
One of the two known locations (Mont de l'Eléphant in Cameroon) is believed to be an iron ore deposit making mining a threat. Also, recent logging activity was noted for that location in 2001.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
Data is needed on the range of this species, its population size, regeneration, and detailed threats.
The location in Equatorial Guinea is close to Monte Allen National Park. It is unknown if the species occurs within this protected area (sanctuary). Mont de l'Eléphant (the location in southern Cameroon) is not currently protected. This area is known to have endemic species such as Begonia montis-elephantis. It should be constituted as a protected area for plants. Efforts should be made to involve local communities in protecting these species, and to attempt to propagate these species in cultivation for reintroduction, if needed.
