The species is only known from one herbarium collection made in 1904 but the habitat seems intact. The area is however not protected. This suggests that the population is small and population currently stable, but could decrease in size with future threats.

Satellite imagery currently shows an intact tree cover in this area. Its lack of formal protection can however cause the species to go into a high level of extinction risk in the future. It is en route to Fraser's Hill, accessible by a road wide enough for trucks to pass, making logging a future threat.
