From 2001 to 2019, the native range lost 1.72 kha of tree cover, equivalent to a 1.6% decrease in tree cover since 2000. As of 2010, 98% of the area was tree cover (Global Forest Watch 2021). Logging poses a threat to this species, as there are large logging concessions at three (and almost four) of the documented localities (Trudgeon and Baker 2008).
