There is no numerical population information on the abundance or population status of this species. It has been reported as common at two sites.

From 2001 to 2019, the native range lost 8.36 kha of tree cover, equivalent to a 7.1% decrease in tree cover since 2000. Currently, there is no evidence for any direct or indirect threats to this species but more research is needed (Global Forest Watch 2021).
