As of 2010, 97% of the presumed native range was tree cover. From 2001 to 2019, though, the area lost 56 ha of tree cover, equivalent to an 8.5% decrease in tree cover since 2000. There are also a number of oil palm concessions in the surrounding areas and within the species' extent of occurrence (EOO), causing deforestation which is likely to impact upon the species (Global Forest Watch 2021).
