État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
Though there are no exact population records currently available, the species can be expected to be rare given its very limited and restricted occurrence in Baler and Divilacan, Aurora. The species is considered to be severely fragmented as between the two known localities there is unlikely to be any genetic exchange due to anthropogenic activities and geographic features. With the continuous effect of anthropogenic activities (shifting agriculture and urbanization) in the area, there is an expected continuing decline to its population size. The uncertainty in its population size can be addressed by further inventories and documentation.

Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
The very restricted occurrence of the species is one of the major threats to its population size and survival given its limited distribution and occurrence. Its scarce abundance can easily be subjected to significant loss even with minor natural and anthropogenic disturbances. Over 9,000 hectares of tree cover have been lost from the species' local area and province (GFW 2019), due to shifting agriculture and urbanization which have directly affected both the quality and extent of its habitat. Threats are continuing due to high records of forest loss up until 2019 (GFW 2019).

The species is listed in the DAO 2017-11 or the Updated National List of Threatened Species in the Philippines and is currently assessed as Endangered (DENR 2017). Through this administrative order pursuant to Republic Act no. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 illegal and excessive tampering of the species from its natural habitats together with other species specified therein are inhibited. Unauthorized utilization, trade, and actual disturbances made in their natural habitats are punishable by the law. Aside from this, no other active conservation measures were reported to be initiated, thus, intensive researches, survey works, and ex-situ conservation strategies are highly-recommended.
