As the species only seems to have been collected once, the population is likely to be small. The altitude at which that collection was made and the quality of the habitat does however suggest that the sub-population in Peninsular Malaysia is stable. The status of any subpopulation (-s) in Thailand is unknown.

Considering the altitude given (1,300 m), the type collection is likely to have been made in the section of Taiping Hills which is Bukit Larut Forest Reserve. The population should here be under a level of protection. The threats to any subpopulation (-s) in Thailand are unknown.
