Haniffia flavescens is a hyper endemic and the species is only found in Endau Rompin State Park, Johor (Sam et al. 2009). The subpopulation in the park is stable and intact (Y.-Y. Sam pers. obs. 2018).

There is no threat to the subpopulation in Endau Rompin State Park, Johor. The locality is a virgin forest fully protected and managed as a Totally Protected Area. The park is listed in IUCN Management Category II (Protected Planet 2018).
