Description complète des menacesExpert
The natural vegetation has been degraded and fragmented through conversion to agricultural land, coca plantations and urban development. Threats may be reduced on steep and inaccessible slopes. The impact of anthropogenic disturbance on the population of this species is unknown. The taxon has been collected in logged primary forest, however, its ability to regenerate in secondary forest is unknown. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant. The impact of potential collection for the horticultural trade on the population is unknown.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species has been collected within several conservation units, throughout its range. Sample of seeds should be collected as an ex situ conservation measure. The population should be monitored at regular interval to detect any change in dynamics. It has been recently assessed as Least Concern, in Columbia, in 2003 (Garcia and Galeano 2006).
