Conservation of patches of evergreen forest across the range of the species should be sufficient to protect it. This species is known from several protected areas such as Gunung Kinabalu National Park, Bukit Baka - Bukit Raya National and Gunung Mulu National Park. It is grown in four ex situ localities (BGCI 2018) e.g. Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
