The population is small and there is a negative population trend. In 1972 it was considered common at Nang Rong Waterfall (Maxwell 72-368 BK!), the same location was revisited in 2015 and the species was not found (S. Sangvirotjanapat pers. comm. 2018).

The Thai location includes a waterfall which is frequently visited by tourists e.g. to climb (S. Sangvirotjanapat pers. comm. 2018). The threats to the location in Myanmar are unknown.
