État de la populationExpert
The global population is large but difficult to quantify. More than 70 herbarium collections are known but many date from the 19th century (ZRC 2018). Given the global habitat degradation that has taken place, it is likely that the trend is to reduced population numbers and sizes.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
Conservation of patches of evergreen forest across the range of the species should be sufficient to protect it. This species is known from protected areas such as Gunung Kinabalu National Park and Gunung Mulu National Park (Protected Planet 2018). It is known to be grown in 13 ex situ localities (BGCI 2018) e.g. at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
