État de la populationExpert
In 2003 one group of this species was found (Lau and Lim 2012) and it is likely that the number of mature individuals was much less than 50. When revisiting the site in 2005, no individuals could be found (Lau and Lim 2012). If this was the only locality in which this species existed, it is now extinct.

Description complète des menacesExpert
There are no threats which specifically target this species. The surrounding area has, however, been subjected to logging (GFW 2018) which suggests that the habitat, and by extension the species, is threatened. Eco-forest trails can be found in the extent of occurrence which can cause direct harm to the plants or indirectly by causing a decline in habitat quality (Lau 2014).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
Research into the population, distribution, habitat and threats, of this species are needed but, first and foremost, to find out if it still exists. If so, monitoring would be desired to be able to understand its conservation needs.
