État de la populationExpert
Subpopulations have been found at several localities in Perak and Pahang with various levels of threat. Lau and Lim (2012) note, for example, that the individuals on Frasers' Hill have a higher degree of threat than the one at Gunung Jasar which is relatively well conserved. Even if the actual population size is unknown it can be suspected that the population size is decreasing. There has been a tree cover loss of almost 13% in a 16 year period within this species extent of occurrence (GFW 2018). This decline in habitat quality may have a negative effect on the population trend.

Description complète des menacesExpert
There are no known threats which are specific to Geostachys densiflora. Tree cover loss within the EOO (GFW 2018) shows, however, that there are threats to the general habitat which may pose a direct or indirect threat to this species.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
According to BGCI's Plant Search database there is one ex situ location where this species is cultivated (BGCI 2018). Research and monitoring of this species population, habitat, use and threats is needed to further understand its
conservation needs.
