The population size of this species is unknown. Herbarium specimens have been collected from protected areas (ZRC 2018) which should have a stabilizing effect on the population trend. There has, however, been roughly 10% tree cover loss on the mountain range where the species is found (GFW 2018). This reduction in habitat quality causes a suspected population decline.

There are no threats recorded which are specific to this species. There are, however, threats to its general habitat. Around 10 % of the tree cover on the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range has been lost in a 16 year period (loss in 2001-2016 compared to 2000) (GFW 2018).

Collections have been made in protected areas such as Khao Luang National Park and Khao Lum Rom in Namtok Yong National Park (ZRC 2018), in which these individuals may be conserved. Research and monitoring is, however, needed to further understand this species' conservation needs.
