This species is knwon from some protected areas; in Nicaragua, from Parque Nacional Saslaya, Reserva Natural Kilambé, Reserva Natural Macizo de Peñas Blancas; in Costa Rica, from Área de Conservación Guanacaste, Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja, Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio, Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal, Reserva Biológica Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde, Reserva Biológica Manuel Alberto Brenes, Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo, Estación Biológica La Selva, Parque Nacional Barbilla, Reserva Biológica Hitoy Cerere, and Parque Internacional La Amistad; and in Panama, from Parque Internacional La Amistad.
