No numerical population information is available for this species, and the current population trend is unknown.
Description complète des menacesExpert
The known site for this species is Sarawandori, on the south coast of Yapen just west of Serui, the largest city on Yapen. The forest at this locality is relatively intact apart from small settlements and roads and there are large areas of similar habitat to the north and west of the site (Google Earth 2024). The elevational range is not known for this species and therefore if it unknown if this species is confined to low elevations or if the hilly interior of the island is suitable habitat as well. The majority of Yapen is forested apart from a few flat lowland areas in the south of the island, particularly the urban area of Serui, however it is likely that there are few threats to this species at present due to the large areas of intact habitat on Yapen, even at low elevations.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
About 75% of the area of Yapen is covered by the Yapen Tengah Nature Reserve (UNEP-WCMC and IUCN 2024), however this covers the interior of the island and not the south coast where the known locality for this species is located. Further research into the elevational range and habitat preferences for this species is needed, as well as more observations, to determine whether this species is confined to the coast, or if the interior forests are suitable habitat as well. This species is not known to be in any ex situ collections (BGCI 2024).
