It is a lowland species, it will be subjected to habitat loss outside protected areas (e.g. the Kemaman subpopulation in Terengganu).

No conservation action taken to safeguard any subpopulation of this species, however, the species is recorded in at least three protected areas, Taman Negara, Kelantan and Royal Belum State Park, Perak, and Gunung Panti Forest Reserve, Johor. The species is grown in ex situ cultivation in one botanic garden (BGCI 2018).
