According to BGCI (2020) the species is grown ex situ at three sites. A few populations are within wildlife sanctuaries in Thailand bordering Myanmar (Protected Planet 2020). In India, the species has been observed (Dr. Santanu Dey pers. comm.) in Intanki NP and Barail Wildlife Sanctuary. These would offer some level of protection.
