État de la populationExpert
This species is known from four specimens collected between 1916 and 1963. The actual size and dynamics of the population are unknown, but in 1963 it was reported to be locally common in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan, Iran.

Description complète des menacesExpert
No specific threats are known for this species but the species is connected to a very unstable environment, influenced by overgrazing, in the highest areas of its range, and by habitat loss caused by conversion of land mainly by agriculture. From the herbarium specimens it is not clear if the population could be made of two-four subpopulations, or if it is actually just one. The low number of botanical records could be influenced by a lack of collection effort in this region. A small part of the potential suitable habitat of the species is already protected and the management of these areas is often unclear or ineffective. Fire (often used to prepare the land to cultivate it) is another major threat for woodland and steppe of this region.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
This species was not collected in any protected area. The species would be affected positively by a better management and protection of the steppe environment, with particular attention to the overgrazing and the conversion of land witch seems to affect widely the region, but nothing relevant can be said without an assessment of the actual locations and population size. No seeds are known to be stored in any genetic resource bank. This species is not known to have been assessed previously.
