État de la populationExpert
This species is reported to be quite common east of Khenjan in Afghanistan (Grey-Wilson 1974). No other population data are available and the population trend is unknown.
Description complète des menacesExpert
The specific threats to this species are unknown. Threats within the Paropamisus xeric woodland ecoregion, where it occurs, include over-grazing and disturbance from war and civil unrest which has impeded conservation activity (Hogan 2013). However, the leaves of some species of Eremurus are unpalatable to livestock which may afford some protection from over-grazing (Gardener and Gardener 2014).

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
It is not certain whether this species is found within any protected area although two specimen records fall close to the Cildukhtaronsky Nature Refuge in Tajikistan. It is considered to be of local significance and requiring protection in Tajikistan (Pulatova and Rakhmonova 2003). It is known to be conserved within two botanic gardens (BGCI 2016).
