This palm occurs in two protected areas: the Takamanda National Park (Cameroon) and the Conkouati-Douli National Park (Republic of Congo), and it is also present in the Dimonika Biosphere Reserve (Republic of Congo) (IUCN and UNEP-WCMC 2016).
