Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
Two sites where the species occurs in Cameroon, near the Nigeria border, were threatened by habitat loss at the end of the 1990s (Sunderland 2012). However, one area was classified as National Park in 2008: the Takamanda National Park. It is inferred that habitat loss in this area has stopped as a result of the protection of this land. The site of the Rumpi Hill Forest Reserve in Cameroon is known to have been seriously and widely damaged by logging and farming during the same period at the end of the 1990s (Birdlife 2001). It is not known if the subpopulation of Eremospatha quinquecostulata still exists there. No obvious threats have been identified to the other known sites in the south of Cameroon, Gabon and Nigeria although this species may be locally threatened by habitat degradation or habitat loss.
