The number of mature individuals is not known but Eremospatha laurentii is reported to be common in regrowth vegetation (Sunderland 2012) and the species has a very large distribution and is thought to be under-collected – the overall population size is not thought to be small or restricted.

There are no known major threats to this species across its large distribution range, although it may be facing habitat degradation locally due to human activities (eg. agriculture, logging).
