Forests of Borneo are under continuous threat of being logged and the land converted to e.g. palm oil plantations (WWF 2018). Individuals in the protected areas should stay conserved while the habitat is under threat in other parts of the distribution.

This species has not been recorded by BGCI (2018) to be grown ex situ. It has been collected in protected areas; Gunung Nyiut Penrissen Nature Reserve (Sarawak) and Ladan Hills Forest Reserve (Brunei) in which individuals should be under a level of protection (Protected Planet 2018).
