État de la populationTexte officiel évaluation IUCNExpert
There is little information about the population of this species, however on herbarium specimens the species is sometimes reported as common in Papua New Guinea. This is also confirmed in the publication 'New Plants from Crater Mt' (Takeuchi 1999). More research is needed, however, on the current population size and trend of this species.
Description complète des menacesTexte détaillé évaluation IUCNExpert
There are no known threats to this species. Location data shows this species to occur in remote hill side areas, away from disturbance of human habitation.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesStratégies de conservation IUCNExpert
This species' native distribution overlaps with several protected areas within Thailand and China, inferred using GeoCAT (Bachman et al. 2011) and so passive conservation is presumed in these areas. However, there is no evidence of active management or monitoring of this species.
Germplasm is collected and stored ex situ from Nepal and Malaysia and sent to the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership, as part of the Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change project (Dempewolf et al. 2014). There are two global accessions (Genesys 2017).
