Description complète des menacesExpert
In Mozambique on the Tsetserra plateau the montane grassland is threatened by the spread of invasive Pinus patula. There is also a visible impact of grazing by cattle and goats though it is not known if this species is palatable. This species was not recorded during fieldwork in June 2018 (J. Osborne et al. pers. obs. 2018). In Zimbabwe the site on Mt Rukotso is on private farmland, with sheep grazing and potato cultivation. At this site grazing pressure is likely to impact the rocky grassland habitat where this species occurs. In the Nyanga National Park, particularly the southern location of Pungwe Hills, invasive Pinus patula and Australian Wattle (Acacia sp.) may impact on the rocky grassland habitat.

Mesures de conservation recommandéesExpert
No specific conservation measures or management plan are in place for this species. It is recorded from the following protected area in Mozambique: the Chimanimani Trans-Frontier Conservation Area (TFCA) buffer zone. However, although there is potential for habitat management within the buffer zone there is no current conservation management in place on the Tsetserra plateau. In Zimbabwe it is recorded from the following protected area: Nyanga National Park.

This species is not known to be in any ex situ collection (BGCI 2019).
