Deuterocohnia seramisiana

Although the species has only been collected within a 10 km radius, large areas of undisturbed land remain where this species grows. The species also grows at high altitudes (2,000 to 2,500 m asl) and in potentially inaccessible areas which will protect it from human impact. Vasquez et al. (2002) noted that this robust species was unlikely to be threatened. Many threats are present across the ecoregions this species occurs within, mainly associated with land use change, but it is difficult to determine the extent of these without an accurate distribution for this species.

This species is not known to occurs in any protected areas (WDPA 2020). The seeds of this species are not currently held by any seed bank (Genesys 2023), However there is one record of an ex situ collection worldwide (BGCI 2023).
