Cyphosperma trichospadix

Some areas of this species are being cleared for coconut plantations. The species is also likely to be impacted by a single stochastic event, such as a hurricane. If it impacts either of the two known subpopulations, that will cause this species to become Critically Endangered.

There are three recorded ex situ collection of this species worldwide. Conservation recommendations for this species include:  i) more ex situ collections including seed collections, ii) research on seed propagation and cultivation as this is not currently available, and iii) research to confirm status and distribution in order to also understand its threats.
