The threats to this species are unknown. The taxon has not been seen since 1951, despite this being a moderately well-collected area. The collection was probably from just outside Bwindi National Park. A record from the Poroto Mts, Tanzania, by Haines and Lye is improbable, no specimens have been seen and this is this accepted in Hoenselaar et al. (2010).
